Dr. Elias Tarakji received his residency, chief residency, and fellowship training at Wayne State University, School of Medicine, and The Detroit Medical Center. He has been practicing gastroenterology since 1996. Dr. Tarakji is the Medical Director of Valley Digestive Health Center, an endoscopy center in Arcadia. He chaired the Gastroenterology Section and the Department of Medicine at USC Arcadia Hospital.

His special interests include advanced endoscopic procedures and screening colonoscopies; he is highly experienced in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), swallowing problems, ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and biliary disorders. Dr. Tarakji is particularly interested in the early detection and prevention of colon cancer by screening colonoscopy and polyp removal. He thrives to deliver the highest quality of digestive disease care to his patients in the most comfortable patient-centered environment. He is fluent in Arabic and English.

His clinical focus includes Gastroenterology, Colonoscopy, Colon Cancer Screening, Upper GI Endoscopy, Upper GI Disorders, ERCP, Capsule Endoscopy, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and Hemorrhoid Therapy.
