Dr. Eduardo da Silveira received his medical degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He subsequently completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Miami. He went on to earn his Master’s Degree at McGill University, graduating with honors and completing an advanced fellowship in Biliary Endoscopy under the supervision of Dr. Alan Barkun. Additionally, he completed a fellowship in Endoscopy Ultrasound at Stanford University, where he served as an Instructor of Medicine. In 2018, Dr. Eduardo da Silveira went to the National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo and the Zhongshan Hospital in Shanghai to learn Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) and Per-Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM).

Before he started his practice in San Jose, Dr. Eduardo da Silveira worked for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center as an Interventionalist Gastroenterologist. Dr. Eduardo da Silveira has multiple publications in the field of gastroenterology. His practice consists of conventional endoscopic procedures like upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, but he has a particular interest in high-risk endoscopic procedures like ERCP, EUS, ESD, and POEM. He is currently a member of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG). Dr. Eduardo da Silveira is also on the medical staff of the Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Gatos El Camino Hospital, the Regional Medical Center of San Jose, and the O’Connor Hospital. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his son.

Working in San Jose as a gastroenterologist for many years has been very rewarding. The diverse patient population in the South Bay Area has exposed me to a number of gastrointestinal diseases not commonly seen in other parts of the country. My goal is to develop a focused and cost-effective treatment plan for every patient. I strive to deliver care that is compassionate and proactive, from the office to the endoscopy suite.

Today was my first appointment with the Doctor. I cannot tell you what a wonderful human being he is. He is so knowledgeable and compassionate. From the second I walked in for the first time I felt very welcomed. I was greeted by a friendly hello. I filled out my paperwork and within minutes I was brought to the back vitals where taken all history recorded and within minutes Dr Silveira walked in introduced himself , and took his time going over all my info, concerns questions etc. I was leaving out of town for a while and really didn't think I was going to be able to get in for a needed procedure. And figured Id just make the appointment in the months to follow. But Dr Silveira made it a point to rearrange his schedule to accommodate mine. WHO DOES THAT THESE DAYS. So I have a thing with needles. And I went into full on shock at the IV in my arm. Not the first time, but the first time here. The staff was gracious, kind, helpful, caring, and understanding and they immediately refunded my money. I feel horrible that I put them through that, but they couldn't have reacted better under the circumstances. I'm sure they are good at the job they are supposed to be doing: giving people the procedures they go in for, but if you are at all worried about your procedure or any part of it (like the IV part...which is a very irrational fear but nevertheless...) just know that when a wrench is thrown into the system, they are on top of adapting to your needs. Blanket on, blanket off, ice pack, hand holding, true concern for me was apparent. Not as a customer or a walking lawsuit. As a fellow human being. When I get the nerve to go through with it, ill be back. Thank you for the respect, concern, skill, and empathy.

Definitely a great experience. I was so nervous going in for such a small procedure for pre op on my gastric sleeve, and the nurses made me feel so at ease the techs and doc were so comforting. The front office, nursing, and procedure room staff continued the flow of kindness, empathy, and efficiency with such skill that my IV was started on the first stick and anesthesia well done. I have been a Physician Assistant for 30 years and also a patient who has been through an awful lot. This man delivered the utmost compassion and care as my wife needed surgery for what we thought might’ve been colon cancer. As he was unable to remove a lesion causing some concern himself, he immediately enlisted the assistance of a skilled surgeon. My wife is now in recovery and he came into the room and was so completely genuine, letting us know how bad he felt that he was unable to do the procedure himself. Doctor Eduardo is absolutely awesome! I highly recommend him! He was the third doc I saw after 3 months suffering every single day from stomach pain. He suggested an endoscopy and asked for additional blood and image exams, since the medication I was taking was not working apparently. The entire staff was kind and showed extremely professionalism at all times, not only at his office but at the endoscopy center too. The endoscopy procedure was all successful.
