The American Cancer Society has published a report stating that colon cancer rates have dropped by 30% in people over the age of 50 due to screenings. The death rate for colon cancer has also gradually declined by 3% a year over the last 10 years, while test rates have increased from 19% to 55%.
With the help of our pro-active doctors and the increase in the number of screenings, cancer rates can go down even further.
If you’re over the age of 50 or have a personal or family history of colon cancer or inflammatory bowel disease, you should talk to your doctor about the different screening options available.
